Thrupp Farm Excavation – Wednesday 12th – Tuesday 18th August 2026
CLASP will be looking for evidence of iron furnaces to ascertain if they are Roman or Medieval + anything else that may be there.
There will be a charge of £15 to take part. All participants must be members of CLASP for insurance purposes. Membership fee £10. Participants must be 16 or older (16 – 18-year-olds to be accompanied by a parent or guardian). Payments can be made by BACS or cheque – as below, or pay on the day.
If you are unable to take part but wish to make a donation through the website to support the cost of excavation work these are always welcome.

CLASP will be undertaking a dig at the extramural area of the Roman posting station at Bannaventa from Thursday 25th to Wednesday 31st of August 2022. To apply to participate in this dig please complete and return the form below. Attendance at the Excavation is subject to a cost of £20 for the weeks dig.
