Stone & Graffito Man

Worked stone

Probably a loom weight.

Found in the proto-villa range

Graffito on a tile

This lovely little object brings us very close to the people who lived and worked on the villa. While a tile was drying, someone drew this representation of a man. Graffiti is nothing new. It is found on many different types of object on Roman sites!

Roll the cursor over the tile to see the graffito outlined.
